Voice search is starting to make up a huge amount of the results returned in search engines. Have you ever asked Siri, Alexa or Google for the answer to a question? Well, Meta is the most likely place that information is gathered.
What is Meta? Well, you’ve probably seen it on your site as a Snippet, or SEO Description.
Meta descriptions are the descriptions below the post's page title on Google's search results pages.
They provide searchers with a short summary of the post before clicking into it. They are ideally between 150-160 characters and start with a verb, such as "Learn," "Read," or "Discover."
While meta descriptions no longer factor into Google's keyword ranking algorithm, they do give searchers a snapshot of what they will get by reading the post and can help improve your clickthrough rate from search.
Getting the right copy to say the right thing is crucial, I whole heatedly recommend using Answer The Public to find what people are searching for, then working that question in to your SEO Meta description.
